Daily Quote: January 23, 2011
Today I'm feeling gratitude for all the deceptions and misconceptions my well-meaning teachers (parents, teachers, counselors, etc.) tried to incorporate into my life for me. I've realized they were often misperceptions that no doubt worked for them but really just didn't belong in my life. I love my teachers -- for they meant me no harm; but I gratefully decline their misplaced lessons.

Am I wearing a lot of masks or just many, many hats? Do I have Attention Deficit Disorder or am I just too multi-faceted for their own comfort? Are these mood swings or am I just progressing nicely? Clinically depressed or normally melancholy? Wow; methinks their concerns are too much with me!

Being sacred, I think, can be achieved by treating myself as an altar. Forget all about my physical altar – the one in my house – and forget all about the ego games I play and ceremonies I play and thoughts I bandy about. I can be my own portable sacred altar -- moving hither and yon in my Earth Suit.

Daily Quote: January 20, 2011
Today I'm navigating uncharted, freelance nonfiction literary waters; ghost writing up a storm and loaning my talents to strangers. My ego hates me writing without a byline; but I think it's great practice for bigger and better things. Besides, what does my ridiculous, fear-mongering ego know? It knows squat; that's what it knows.

Be they more scenic or simply faster, for some, the alternate side roads ARE the main highway!

Martin Luther King, Jr.
"When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows. Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
